Week 1 

Boo Radley,Myth or Monster - Alexandra Voronchikhina

        Arther Radley ,now known as Boo Radley, is  supposably a phantom or a ghost who lives in the Radley house. If any petty crimes were commited in the town of Maycomb, Boo Radley was instantley blamed. He is thought to come out at night to eat cats and squirrels, and occationally peek into windows. If you walk by the Radley house at night, watch out because he could be watching you.

 What's a Hot Steam? - Claire Takeshita

          As you were walking have you ever felt a hot spot on a long lonesome road? This is a Hot steam.While you are walking you can come across these in the roads. They are someone who can't get to heaven and they are standing there. If you come across one of these you have to say a "Angel bright, life in death, get of the road don't suck my breath " This can keep them from trying to get you.

         The main characters Scout, Jem and Dill started a talk about this because Scout and Dill were arguing and getting really supersticious about another subject. This was when Jem said that they really were sounding like they believed in Hot Steams.

 

 

Week 2 

 The Powers of the Indian-Heads - Mysha Quader

                In the book, Jem and Scout found a knothole that contained all kinds of treasures. One of those treasures was a box that held two Indian-head pennies. They were from the year 1900 and 1906. Indian-heads are rumored to bring good luck to the holder. It would have come from the Indians and Indians know strong magic. It would ensure a long life, good health, and passing tests. These would be valuable to people and thus, Jem and Scout kept them when no one came for them.

 

 

 

             Egyptian Walk - Alexandra Voronchiokhina

             In the book, Jem learned about Egyptians. He believes that Egyptians walk with One arm in front of them bent and the other arm the same way exept behind them. Scout thinks that this is silly because if they walked like that nothing would get done because you can't do anything if your arms are always like that. 

 

 Rosetta Stone - Alexandra Voronchikhina

      It is written on the Rosetta stone that when children smoked cigarettes, disobeyed their parents, and made war on each other, the season would change. Mr.Avery told this to Jem And Scout and they felt bad that they were feeling guilty that they were making the seasons change and making their neighbors unhappy.

 

 

Week 3 

 

Mrs. Henry Lafayette Dubose Owns a Gun!- Mysha Quader

                                 Mrs. Dubose was the lady in the book that despised Jem and Scout. She would criticize them and yell at them when they came near her house, but that’s not all the things that she had under sleeves. Mrs. Dubose, the meanest, cruelest, lady what the neighborhood thought had ever lived, was rumored to own a CSA pistol. Yes, a pistol! It was said that she would store the gun in her shawls and wraps. Looks like a Mrs. Dubose has more than insults to tell.

 

Babies For Sale! - Mysha Quader

                                 In book Dill had just ran away from his new family and had stayed over at the Finch’s. He went over to Scout and said that they could get a baby. He explained that you could order one from a man that owned a boat had a bunch of babies on an island. The island, however, wasn’t a sunny one, it was a fog-surrounded island. The babies were in neutral state of being alive and if you wanted one the man would bring one and blow into it. The baby would be filled with life and act just like any other baby in town. That’s how Dill thought was another way of getting babies. Good luck finding the baby man.
