Quote of the Day, “Be respectful to others and respect their activities.”

Can you believe those three today? I was walking home from the post office with today’s newspaper and I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw what those three were doing. They were ridiculing the Radley’s by making up a play of them. I was steaming hotter and more than a train at the Maycomb train station. I figured that Dill might be at the lead, but I was caught off guard when I found out that Jem was actually leading the whole lot. I rolled that newspaper up and it was 12 o’clock when I walked in to lead my inquiry. I first asked them what they were playing and then I asked what the scissors were for. I could see the instant fear in their eyes. I then took the scissors and asked if it had anything to do with the Radleys. Jem lied when he replied to my question. I decided to not tell them to stop playing their game. I was too furious at the time. I opened the door and went to the living room to settle with my newspaper to forget the whole thing. I had the idea to tell Jem about the Radley’s, but I wasn’t sure. That boy’s going to have to grow up and learn to be respectful to other folks. I just don’t know how to tell him about the Radley’s the right way.
